"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do." - Bob Dylan.
I like to drink beer, grow my beard, read and write. I like hot summer days with no agenda. One of these days I am going to have to start giving a shit.
I am a huge fan of what I call the "Big Three." This includes Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, and For Whom The Bell Tolls. I have become a better person after letting the "Big Three" into my life.
I think the interactions between Hemingway and Gertrude Stein in A Moveable Feast were fucking priceless. Fitzgerald was a weird dude but he was a genius. Hemingway could drink more than anyone.
Read Norwegian Wood; it will change your life. Ciao
writing a book has always been on my radar, but the legwork has been preclusive - i'm a lazy guy. plus, i figure i should continue to stock up on relationships with guys who always know new and interesting ways to tear out a person's heart, memories that would make a reasonably sane person vomit, and the other usual masochistic fodder for artistic semi-fiction. my faith piece was originally intended to be the epilogue to a novella, but the plot has gotten weaker and weaker in my head over the months, and the 10 pages i've written have gotten stale. stephen king said he always needs to write out any plot idea he has as quickly as possible, or he'll talk himself out of it. while that gives some interesting insight into the general quality of his work, it's true nonetheless....
are you writing at all anymore, and just not posting on the heel? you've definitely got a gift. would like to see some more.
thank you very much for your support... greatly appreciated!
you've got great taste in authors - Sedaris, Murakami, Salinger, Dylan, etc... right on. i just read "Norwegian Wood". i don't know if it changed my life, but it's a damn good book.
i've been around, trying to get writing gigs via the lovely world of the internet. and trying to get another apartment. and the two of those together is damn near impossible. maybe i should move to paris, where i could be like hemingway, only less talented and drunk.
Why thank you! That's a huge compliment, especially considering one of my favourite quotes is the exchange between Humpty Dumpty and Alice in Through the Looking Glass:
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less." "The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things." "The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - that's all."
I wish I could take credit for it, but unfortunatly my photography talents aren't as experienced as the real photographers. I just loved the picture, but I could never understand why they didn't show her whole face. I did make one like it though, completely by accident. It was probably the best picture I ever took. Did you create yours?
No problem. Look forward to reading more of your stuff.
"La Chispa" and I used to live together back when our parents were hippies. Her writing's okay, but not as good as the psychadelic flower poetry that she used to write.
You may be interested to know that I have been selected to recieve a Moleskine Notebook for "Books on How to be Whole." I'd just like to thank you again for your feedback on my work, it really means a lot to me. & keep up your fantastic work!

I'm overly judgmental about what people smoke - it's something I need to work on.
And there's no need to thank me for being a fan of your work; the pleasure is all mine. Thanks for being a fan of, well, me.
