The Tree, the Vine, and the Ant, Pt. Five

So high are we that our leaves whisper to birds
asd they twirl about us amongst the clouds.
The quiet sshhhhahhh and sheeyhhahh
of our green feathers dispell the screeches and scapes
that plague the forest outside my safe globe of protection.
Inside my walls, you are saved.

We wave to the sun, giving appreciation for her kind rays.
Her cordial words beam upon us, and shine through my canopy,
dappling the ants' playground and spicing the air with warmth.
We smile, aware or our unnoticed gifts to the world
as we guard its creatures and sustain its life.
And still we continue our dancing tangle ever-skyward.

When the world is locked in glassy peace,
You and I, my vine, shall cleave and synchronize
Unwatched by all eyes
save those of the creeping advancement of ants
that march respectfully about our feet.
