Voyage of the Peter Iredale

A roughly 30 minute exposure of the Peter Iredale wreck at Fort Stevens near Astoria, Oregon.  It was dark that night and the tide was way out so the wreck was completely landlocked, in fact you can see passing headlights of cars driving down the beach.  This one was all by feel, just set the camera up on the tripod, locked it open with a cable release and laid on the beach watching the stars myself as long as I could stand the dropping temperatures in my t-shirt.

"And so they could suddenly see their dreams, and the images were so hypnotic it was hard to look away."  Thanks to daff0dil for the remarkable words.

Yes, you're right, this photo was worth a post! Great job, thanks for the technical info so I can replicate it. I love that wreck.

Nice work...and an astronomy lesson thrown in for good measure.
