Autumnal Maple
The famous maple tree in Portlnad's Japanese Gardens in her full Fall splendor. There was a small line of photographers queuing up for this spot, so we had to share. I made three trips up to these gardens within the span of two weeks to try and hit the colors. It is always fun to watch the color shift around the garden because not everything hits its peak at the same time. This tree tends to run a bit later than all the other Japanese Maples in the garden, and the color lasts only about a week, so the window of opportunity is a fairly slim one. And now for Winter! I would encourage any Portlanders out there to continue to visit the gardens in the winter, as there are still a great deal of shots to be taken. A particularly good time of year for black and white.
