Hello everyone,

on 11/23/07 at 07:14 PM

Thanks for the invite Jack :o) Lovely site.

...I'm still finding my way around here...!!!

Many thanks to Wood23 for the invitation---it's an honor to be invited to the company of these incredibly talented photographers. They block Flickr where I work, so this is also an opportunity to look at wonderful art when I, erm, should be working. I hope to learn a lot here.

Many thanks to wood23 for the invitation. I look forward to seeing everyone's pictures and learning from them.

Bio: Nikon D200 Junkie with the kickin' VR lens that was *finally* in stock. After the hawk took off with the mourning dove, of course.

Mitaa kuulu- wood23 from flickr told me about the site, thought I should check it out (thanks Jack!). I'm a rank amateur when it comes to photography and I'm just using a point-and-shoot, but I'm hoping to get some feedback and check out some good photography while I'm at it. Glad to be part of the group!

good to have you here BarbaraSJ - really love your photos.

on 10/03/07 at 06:04 AM

Was flattered to be invited by wood23 on Flickr. Have been using digital cameras since 2000, with my current digital a Nikon d70. Also have an Olympus OM-1, which is my baby. Since my move from Australia to the US a year ago, I haven't had time to play with any of my other cameras. Dabble with a blog, have published poetry, and try to relieve stress through creativity. It reduces counselling fees. I look forward to sharing with the many creative and artistic people here on heelpress.

Hiya. Just joined this community and this group, after somebody at deviantart told me I should become a member here. It does seem nice, even though I haven't had time to look around so much.

I see you're talking about cameras. I've got five, but I'm just using three of them. The one I use the most right now is a Pentax K100D, which I won at a photo contest. Even though I've got five cameras, I still plan on buying another one, one that I can keep with me in my pocket at all times. Just have to sell some pictures to earn some money to buy it :).

geert - great to have you here - welcome.  that is quite an impressive camera collection.  what are your thoughts about analog versus digital now that you've made the switch?  we were having a discussion about it over in the 35mm photography group - wondering if you had any insight.

on 07/22/07 at 09:38 AM

Hi,

Just joined about a week ago.

I got only really interested in photography since late last year. I did have a nice collection of analog cameras (Nikon F501, Nikon F-50, several Praktica's, Mamiya, Yashica, Fujica, Minolta Dynax 7000i, Canon AE-1, Canon A-1, Canon T-90... but finally decided I would order my first digital. Because I had quite a few Nikon lenses, plus all the old (but quite good) M-42 screw lenses with an adapter, I opted for the Nikon D80 with a 18-200mm VR lens. It finally arrived in March this year and I've been using it virtually every day.

Quite happy to join you guys, and hoping to learn from you...

Hey all,

new to photography and photo manipulation...oh yeah and new to heel press

Check out my page to see my stuff. Anyway u guys are talking about different camera types and im definitly in need for a new one, does anyone have the new snapshot???

on 12/18/06 at 04:24 PM

It's funny because I was standing in the shop going back and forth between those two exact cameras.  I think the Nikon has a little better lens off the shelf, however I just responded better with the canon.  I liked how it felt.  The canon came with the 18-55 mm and it works well.  Like Jack Wood said, I think it comes down to which  camera you feel more comfortable knowing you will have for a long time.
