March 08, 2008 - 06:53 PM It is definitely an interesting technique with a wide variety of applications.  I have seen quite a bit of it and actually after a while it starts to get a bit old...  I think there tends to be a thin line between technique and gimmick and many photographers are using HDR to spruce up and glitz out otherwise mundane images, sort of in similar fashion as lensbabies, tilt-shift, pinhole, etc.  It shouldn't be interesting JUST because it is HDR, but the HDR should enhance an already interesting image.  That is the trap we easily fall into when freshly experimenting with new techniques and tricks like.  Not that we shouldn't mind you.  The things we can do with cameras and the fresh ways we use them to capture the world never cease to amaze me.  Now I need to go perfect my HDR tilt-shift pinhole....
