Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1982) for Gabriel García Márquez who wrote One Hundred Years of Solitude.  The book covers the history of Columbia and is widely considered a masterpiece and perhaps one of the best books ever written.  The book also used elements of what came to be known as magic realism.
