This week, The Wall Street Journal has unveiled it's new, smaller size.  The paper has reduced its width by just about one full column, which the parent company Dow Jones & Co. claims will save $18 million a year.  

It's all well and good that this is a cost savings move for the Journal, but this move is also important in that it highlights the efforts of large corporations to reduce their environmental impact.

Has anyone read a new copy of the paper?  Do you think the quality of the paper will stay the same with the new format?  Do you think it was an environmentally responsible move, or just a method to cut costs?

probably a method just to cut costs. with most print papers struggling to bring in revenue, i would imagine that their main concern is keepin dem profits up. but...
