yeah that's fucked up, but i don't think it's as bad the mel gibson thing. i was watching letterman the other night and saw him apologize and he seemed pretty sincere. a lot of the black leaders have forgiven him, including jesse jackson.

does anybody else think that michael richards looks like he is on drugs? i mean, even during the apology, he looks a little out of it. also, does anybody else think that the whole letterman apology was out of seinfeld's fear of this incident taking a chunk out of their syndication paycheck?

perhaps it is merely my unwavering cynicism creating these outrageous accusation, but it's interesting that nobody seems to be bringing up these speculations.

Yeah I had the feeling that was a strong motivation as well. The show "Seinfeld" is a god among sitcoms, and the person Seinfeld wants to protect that.

yeah, Richard's career looks to be about over.

I thought Jerry was pretty straightforward with his treatment of Richards, however, during the letterman ordeal. He WAS marketing Season 7 though. Still, I think his offering of his time on Letterman as an apology stage for Kramer was evidence of his friendship to the man more than anything sinister.

He's been labeled a racist too. If you listen really closely. He also has a part of his standup routine CD, I'm Telling You For The Last Time, called "Chinese People".

Danny Hoch, the man behind the god-awful Whiteboys movie, had his own little Sienfeld experience to share a while ago and it recently resurfaced amidst the controversy:
