The Heel Press has just teamed up with Blurb to offer all Heel Press members the chance to be a part of a great new challenge. Each month, the top writer and top artist portfolios from the Heel Press will be selected and turned into professionally bound books.

Blurb is a very cool and creative company that makes it fun and easy for you to create professional-quality books and the Heel Press has many members who upload their work in both art and writing. So, we decided to join forces for a monthly challenge to reward the most creative, most inspiring, and best material. The winning artists and writers will have the opportunity to transfer their work and make their own professionally bound book for free! Choose your style of book. Hardcover? Yes! Landscape? Yes! Both art and writing? Yes! We will cover all costs up to $50. Display the book proudly on your coffee table, share it with friends and family on the holidays, present it as a portfolio to potential employers, or just keep it quietly on your bookshelf. Whatever works! We believe this is a great way to promote the spirit of creativity and encourage the sharing of great work.

Here is how the challenge will work...

The Blurb Book Challenge is in effect now. It is setup as a monthly challenge but, because of the holiday season, our top 8 winning portfolios for the first round will be selected January 15th. The second round will then be selected February 15th and so on.

How do you win? On each writer and artist profile, there will be a button that any Heel Press member can click to nominate that artist or writer for the Blurb Book Challenge. The button will be displayed on every profile page next to the member's avatar. Our system will record each and every member nomination throughout the life of the challenge, and the members with the most nominations will be put into a special group. Get your friends to sign up and nominate your portfolio! Then, the Heel Press team and the Blurb team will narrow down the portfolio selections based on:

• Overall Rating
• Number of Fans
• Number of Views
• Level of Creativity
• Level of Originality

The top artist portfolio and the top writer portfolio will then be chosen and selected for print in one of Blurb's professionally bound books. If you are selected as a winner and you are both an artist and a writer, you can make your own book to include both your writing and your art! All winners will have the opportunity to create a Blurb Book with a value up to $50! Also, the work you choose to put into the book once you win is completely your choice!

After you create your book using Blurb BookSmart™, upload and order it, and we will deliver the book to your doorstep. You will then have the option of selling your book in Blurb's online bookstore for the price of your choice so that you can keep 100% of the markup.
